Smoothie Bowls Are The New Green (Juice)

Smoothie Bowls Are The New Green (Juice)

Eating healthy doesn’t only have to mean green juice and kale. There are plenty of ways to approach a more nutritious diet, without giving up taste and creativity. Have you ever heard of a smoothie bowl? It essentially has all of the ingredients of a typical smoothie but is more filling and tasty. You already take such great care of your outer appearance by following the right daily skin care routine. So it’s only natural to want to devote some energy to eating the right foods. Your insides should match your outsides, right? Here are some tips on how to build a better smoothie bowl that will provide you with vitamins, minerals, and fiber you need to get your day going right.

Blend Your Base For The Bowl

Most smoothie bowls consist of a yogurt base with some kind of frozen fruit blended into it. You can choose any kind of fruit you want, but bananas work particularly well for a creamy base, especially when paired with low-fat plain Greek yogurt.

Get Your Toppings Together

You can get creative with this part. Top your base with just about anything you want in the fruit, toasted grains, nuts, or even veggie family. Start with fruit smoothie bowls and work your way up to a green bowl with kale or spinach. Savory bowls are also becoming increasingly popular as a nutritious lunch option that you can easily pack for work.

Extra Nutritious Add-Ons

Some extra things you can add to increase the fiber and protein content are chia or flax seeds, almond butter, and even pepitas (small Spanish pumpkin seeds that taste nutty and delicious). The important thing to remember with smoothie bowls is that anything goes! Switch things up so you don’t get bored with them and you’ll always have a yummy breakfast, snack, or late night meal to satisfy your food cravings in a healthy way.
